Hertz&Selck awarded "Ökoprofit"
certification. On
January 13, 2009, Hertz&Selck was named an "ÖKOPROFIT"
company under the "Hamburg Environmental Partnership". This
distinction is awarded to companies in recognition of their voluntary
commitment to environmental protection. The measures adopted by Hertz&Selck
included the decision in 2007 to purchase "green" electricity
as well as the installation of facilities throughout the entire warehouse
to ensure the correct storage of raw materials. Furthermore energy-saving
appliances and lighting systems were installed. "ÖKPPROFIT"
is a German acronym which stands for "ecological project for integrated
environmental technology", its goal being to improve the environmental
performance of enterprises and to intensify the dialogue with authorities
in order to meet the targets for reduction of CO2 output.
