Strategic expansion of management: Hertz & Selck establishes dual leadership

Hamburg, June 23, 2026 Hamburg-based flavor manufacturer Hertz & Selck is setting the course for the future by introducing a dual leadership structure. Dr. Philipp Brüning assumed his role as Managing Director on June 1, 2026. He joins existing Managing Director Bianca Hinrichsen, who has led the company since 2023. The establishment of this new leadership structure is a direct response to the company's dynamic growth to over 100 employees and the acquisition of a second location in Hamburg. The expanded management team aims to sustainably secure the company's consistently high B2B quality standards in the international market and to systematically advance strategic future projects in the areas of digitalization, analytics, and process automation.

The expansion of the team follows a clear internal logic and reflects the increasing complexity of operational processes. Dr. Philipp Brüning and Bianca Hinrichsen both have a scientific background as graduates in food chemistry, but bring complementary professional experience to the dual leadership. To meet the diverse demands of the market, Dr. Brüning will now focus on managing the laboratory and the production processes closely related to it. Bianca Hinrichsen will concentrate her work on sales and development, where she draws on many years of in-depth market and customer knowledge.

Dr. Philipp Brüning brings extensive management experience from the international corporate world of the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, where he served for several years as Managing Director in laboratory analytics. "In the initial weeks of getting to know each other, the focus will be on gaining a precise understanding of the established structures.
